As a senior: *Redshirted due to offseason surgery.
As a junior: Loethen finished eighth at nationals, earning All-American honors. He was also named to the All-Region, and All-MIAA teams.Â
Loethen was ranked No. 7 Â twice by the Division II Wrestling Coaches Association, first on Jan. 15 and again before nationals on March 5. He was second at the UCM Open, and sixth at the Simpson Invitational. Loethen was third at both the MIAA Championships and the Central Regional.Â
He went 23-10, with the second best winning percentage on the team at .697, and had a 8-1 dual record. He had the fastest fall on the team, at 0:25, and recorded four pins total. He tied for second in wins by techinical fall (2), and decision (12), and was fourth in team points earned (88), and overall wins (23).
As a sophmore Loethen had a 20-9 record with nine falls and one tech fall. He also had 24 takedowns. Loethen led the team in two-point near falls (9) and three-point near falls (12). He was second in winning percetage (67%), pins (9), and fastest fall (:20).Â
At Northern Illinois Loethen was a letterwinner and started as a freshman.Â
In high school Loethen had a 139-7 record and was the 2011 State Champion. He was a two time Brute Adidas National Champion, Freestyle Champion in 2011, and Greco Roman State Champion in 2011. Loethen holds multiple state records, and  was also a powerlifting State Champion...
Loethen is the son of Ryan and Angela Loethen. He is majoring in Agricultural Business.Â
