Audrey J. Walton Clubhouse at Mules National Golf Club

Audrey J. Walton Clubhouse at Pertle Springs

The Audrey J. Walton Clubhouse at Keth Memorial Golf Course at Pertle Springs was dedicated on Tuesday, November 29, 2011.

Longtime university supporter, Audrey J. Walton, Versailles, made the clubhouse possible through a $1.5 million gift. Walton’s gift was used toward construction of the $1.7 million facility.  It is approximately 5,000 square feet and has features that include men’s and women’s locker rooms with showers, Traditions Restaurant, a fully-stocked pro shop, staff offices, and a patio that overlooks the 18th green. Reasbeck Construction, Inc. began work on the facility in April 2011.

Pertle Springs was once a nationally known resort area. Beginning in 2008, the university began an extensive renovation of Keth Memorial Golf Course, adding a new driving range with four indoor bays, new putting greens and a chipping area.

Today, the golf course is home for the Mules and Jennies golf teams, in addition to hosting recreational golfers. The facility has often been used as a site for golf tournaments to raise money for scholarship programs and support a variety of other philanthropic endeavors.

In addition to supporting the new clubhouse, Audrey J. Walton is one of the largest individual cash donors in UCM history, having donated funds that also helped build the football stadium that bears her name. She also contributes annually to the university, including major items to the annual UCM Athletic Auction.
