Roger Denker Wrestling Facility
The Roger Denker Wrestling Facility opened in January, 2023, and is the new, state-of-the-art home for the University of Central Missouri Mules Wrestling Program.
The facility, named after former UCM wrestling head coach and UCM Athletic Hall of Famer Roger Denker, and made possible by substantial gifts from two former Central Missouri wrestlers, Dan Power and Gary Ervin, provides Mules wrestling with one of the top wrestling facilities in NCAA Division II.
The project consisted of renovating the natatorium in the Multipurpose Building into a wrestling center by infilling the existing indoor swimming pool with gravel and pouring a new slab on top, and the installation of a new sprung floor system for the extents of the wrestling mat area and leveling the existing pool deck to meet accessibility standards.
Conversion of an office to a new wrestling center entry, and conversion of an existing storage room into a new coaches' office, and renovation of an existing office to re-locate the entry and installation of new interior storefront was also part of the project, along with installation of resilient rubber athletic flooring to cover the center floor.
The facility was constructed by E&K Construction out of Grandview, Mo.
