- Fourth-ranked and No. 1-seeded Central Missouri Jennies soccer (18-1-2) is scheduled to host eighth-seeded SWOSU (9-4-7) in the first round of the NCAA-II Central Region Tournament Friday, Nov. 11, at 1 p.m. at the South Recreation Complex in Warrensburg.
- The Jennies are coming off a 4-3 victory over Emporia State in the MIAA Women's Soccer Championship match Sunday, Nov. 6. The tournament title is the sixth in program history for UCM.
- UCM held steady at No. 4 in the most recent United Soccer Coaches' Division II Coaches' Poll released Tuesday.
- Through 21 matches, Julia Kristensen leads the MIAA Regular Season and Tournament Champion Jennies with 15 goals, including seven game-winning goals, and seven assists for 37 points. Madilyn Hamline has 11 goals and five assists for 27 points while Caroline Cole has eight goals and seven assists for 23 points. Lindsay Edmonds and Ashleigh Martin have three goals, and Molly Ricker, Graycen Erisman, Alexis Christopherson, Calynn Harbert and Anna Lack each have two goals on the season. Seven different Jennies have scored one goal through 21 contests in 2022.
- With 21 matches in the books, Kristensen leads the MIAA in total points and game-winning goals, and ranks second in goals and fourth in assists. Hamline is third in the conference in goals, fifth in points and seventh in assists, while Cole is fitfh in assists and goals, and sixth in points.
- Kristensen is second in all of NCAA-II in game-winning goals going into Friday's first round match and is 10th in total points and 12th in total goals.
- In goal for UCM, sophomore Sydney Beck is 18-1-2 with 61 saves, nine shutouts and 18 goals-allowed for a 0.90 goals-against average (GAA) in 1807:38. In the most recent MIAA goalkeeper statistics, she ranks fourth in GAA and seventh in saves.
- The Jennies lead the MIAA through 21 matches in goals (57) and points (148), and are second in assists (34), and are fourth in total goals, 12th in total points and 23rd in total assists in the most recent NCAA-II national rankings.
- Central Missouri was the preseason favorite in the MIAA Preseason Coaches' Poll.

- Tickets prices for all tournament matches are as follows: $5 for adults; $3 for seniors (62 years or older) and students with a valid college ID, and children six (6) & under are free.
- UCM students receive FREE admission to all tournament matches with a valid student ID, courtesy of University of Central Missouri President, Dr. Roger Best.
- Tickets can be purchased online at UCMAthletics.com/tickets or at the Jennies Field box office on the east side of the field on the day of the match.
Jennies in the NCAA-II Tournament
- Central Missouri women's soccer will be making its 15th appearance in the NCAA-II tournament Friday.
- UCM is 20-10-3 all-time in the tournament dating back to its first appearance in 2006.
- When hosting tournament matches at home, Central Missouri is 11-1-1 all-time.
- Under head coach Lewis Theobald, the Jennies have made 13 appearances in the NCAA-II tournament.
- All-time, UCM has six NCAA-II Regional Championships and one NCAA-II National Championship (2017).
Seven Jennies Take Home All-MIAA Women's Soccer Accolades
- Jennies soccer team had seven student-athletes earn All-MIAA honors for their performances on the soccer pitch during the 2022 MIAA conference season, the conference office announced Wednesday, Oct. 26.
- Julia Kristensen and head coach Lewis Theobald took home the conference's top honors. Kristensen was voted both the Offensive Player and Freshman of the Year while Theobald earned Coach of the Year honors.
- Kristensen (unanimous), Caroline Cole and Lindsay Edmonds were all named First Team All-MIAA while Kloee Grubb, Madilyn Hamline and Andree Orcutt garnered Second Team All-MIAA accolades and Molly Ricker earned All-MIAA Honorable Mention honors.

- Dating back to the 2016 season, the Jennies are 70-4-1 at the South Recreation Complex. During that span, UCM has surrendered just 55 goals.
- All-time at the South Recreation Complex, UCM is 210-35-9 under head coach Lewis Theobald and 147-14-8 in overall program history. The Jennies have compiled undefeated home records five times.
Series History
- SWOSU: Friday's first round match against the SWOSU Bulldogs out of Weatherford, Okla., will mark the 13th meeting in the all-time series dating back to 2005. Central Missouri is 12-0 against SWOSU, including a 7-0 mark in Warrensburg and a 3-0 record in NCAA-II postseason competition. The two teams met in the first round last season at the South Recreation Complex, with UCM posting a 1-0 victory. The Jennies and Bulldogs faced each other in the first match of the 2022 season back on Aug. 25 in Warrensburg, with Central Missouri earning a 3-2 win.
Jennies Soccer Inks Six High School Standouts
- Central Missouri Jennies soccer head coach Lewis Theobald announced the signing of six high school standouts on the second day of the 2022-23 signing period Thursday, Nov. 10. Ryann Clark, a midfielder from Kansas City, Kan., Mikayla Ernst, a forward from Raymore, Mo., Gracie Knight, a defender from Shawnee, Kan., Hadley Lockhart, a forward from Shawnee, Kan., Aspen Patterson, a midfielder from Lenexa, Kan., and Emilee Person, a defender from Kearney, Mo., will all play soccer and continue their education at Central Missouri beginning in the fall of 2023. Head Coach Lewis Theobald
Central Missouri women's soccer head coach
Lewis Theobald, now in his 15th year, has transformed the Jennies Soccer program into one of the premier programs not only in the MIAA, but in all of NCAA Division II.
The 11-time MIAA and five-time region Coach of the Year has an impressive 274-40-23 record. He recorded more wins in his first three seasons than any other coach in school history and is the all-time winningest coach in Jennies soccer history. He brought home the program's first ever National Championship in the 2017 season.
Theobald entered the 2022 season as the winningest active coach in Division II women's soccer with an .843 winning percentage, among coaches with at least five years on the sidelines. He also is the all-time D-II leader among coaches with at least 10 years and is sixth all-time in all NCAA Divisions.
During his tenure, Theobald has coached 19 All-Americans and 126 All-MIAA honorees.
A 1999 graduate of the University of Kansas, Theobald received his bachelor's degree in education with a concentration in physical education.
On the Horizon
- If Central Missouri wins its first round match Friday, it will advance to the NCAA-II Central Region second round match at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, in Warrensburg against the winner of the Emporia State vs. Fort Hays State first round contest.
