KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Central Missouri Jennies soccer redshirt sophomore
Caroline Cole has been voted the first MIAA Women's Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week for the 2022 season for her performance on the soccer pitch during the week of Aug. 21-28, the conference office announced Tuesday, Aug. 30.
Cole, a forward who hails from Columbia, Mo., helped the sixth-ranked Jennies to a 2-0 start on the season with wins over SWOSU and Oklahoma Baptist Aug. 25 and 27 at the South Recreation Complex in Warrensburg. In UCM's two matches, she netted three goals for six points. Eight of her 10 shots on the week were on-goal for an impressive .800 shots on goal percentage.
In Central Missouri's 3-2 victory vs. SWOSU, Cole scored the game-tying goal in the 71st minute off an
Ashleigh Martin assist before bending a corner kick into the back of the net in the 73rd minute for her second goal of the match.
In UCM's 3-1 triumph over Oklahoma Baptist, she scored the first goal of the contest in the 23rd minute.
Jennies soccer is scheduled to travel to Allendale, Mich., for a 6 p.m. CT match vs. No. 1-ranked and defending National Champion Grand Valley State Friday, Sept. 2.
