KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Central Missouri Jennies soccer's
Emma Burden was voted the MIAA Defender of the Week for her performance on the soccer pitch during the week of Sept. 19-25, it was announced by the conference office Tuesday, Sept. 27.
Burden, a redshirt freshman defender from Fairway, Kan., helped the No. 4-ranked Jennies to a pair of shutout MIAA victories over No. 12 Central Oklahoma and Newman Sept. 23-25.
In the 1-0 win over Central Oklahoma Friday, Sept. 23, Burden netted the game-winning goal for Central Missouri in the 86th minute off a
Julia Kristensen assist. It was her first collegiate goal.
On the week, Burden netted one goal for two points and played 94 minutes.
The Jennies are scheduled to travel to Claremore, Okla., for a MIAA match at Rogers State Friday, Sept. 30, at 7 p.m.
