ZAMOSC, Poland – University of Central Missouri Jennies Cross Country and Track & Field runner
Marianna Bizon earned a bronze medal in the 3000m at the 2026 Polish U20 National Championships on Friday, July 17, from Ośrodek Sportu in Zamosc, Poland.
"I'm super proud to see Mary excelling at a national level in Poland," Head Cross Country Coach
Collin Nurenberg said.
"She has been putting in some high quality training blocks with her club team and earned some great results these last couple of weeks. I can't wait to see what she accomplishes through the rest of this summer and into the fall season with the rest of the Jennies!" Nurenberg added.
Bizon, who just completed her freshman year at UCM in 2025-26, posted a personal-best time of 9:39.11 in the 3000m en route to a podium finish, while following it up with a fifth-place finish in the 1500m on Sunday, July 19 for good measure.
Marianna will compete in the 5000m at the Polish Senior Nationals on Sunday, July 26, inside the Athletics Stadion BOSiR in Bialystok, Poland.
Bizon posted four top-10 school record marks during this past season, including the school record in the outdoor 1500m with a time of 4:28.60 at the Brian Clay Invitational on Saturday, April 18, and the second fastest indoor 3000m at 9:49.53, good enough for a second-place finish at the 2026 MIAA Indoor Track & Field Championships.
