JOPLIN, Mo. – University of Central Missouri Jennies cross country wrapped up its 2021 season with a seventh place finish out of 35 teams at the NCAA Division II Central Region Championship meet Saturday, Nov. 6, at the Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course on the Missouri Southern State University campus.
The Jennies tallied 283 team points in the meet.
Sophomore
Risper Mengich finished 20th in a field of 237 student-athletes with a season-best 6k time of 21:33.1, leading Central Missouri.
Lilian Busienei (54th at 22:18.37),
Tabby Boldt (57th with a personal-best 22:21.98) and
Mariah Elmore (58th at 22:23.01) rounded out the Jennies in the top-60.
Makenzie Stucker was 94th at 23:04.64,
Kenzie Bergman finished 99th at 23:06.64, and
Emma Bassford placed 127th with a personal-best 6k time of 23:29.25, wrapping up the Central Missouri runners.
Augustana (S.D.) claimed the Central Region Championship with 33 team points, while Minnesota Duluth was second with 113 points. UMary rounded out the top-three in third with 130 points.
Winona State's Lindsay Cunningham won the individual Central Region title with a 6k time of 20:22.52.
