JOPLIN, Mo. – The Central Missouri Jennies cross country team began their season with a 14 place finish Saturday morning at the Missouri Southern Stampede on the Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course in Joplin.
UCM was led by junior
McKenzie Bergman's 49
th place finish with a time of 18:26.81 (49 points scored) while Eldoret, Kenya native
Risper Mengich ran the 5K in 18:35.71 which was good enough for a 59
th place finish (59 points scored).
Sophomore
Rylee Adams posted a 19:25.97 time, while senior
Lilian Busienei finished in 19:35.07, and
Lilly Geelan rounded out the top-five Jennie finishers at 19:51.41.
The University of Arkansas came away with the team title with a total of 34 points in the meet including four top-10 finishers.
The Jennies' next meet is in Columbia, Mo. at the Gans Creek Classic scheduled for Friday, Sept. 30 beginning at 9:00 a.m.
