Mengich Named USTFCCCA All-Region

NEW ORLEANS – University of Central Missouri Jennies cross country student-athlete Risper Mengich was named USTFCCCA All-Region, the organization announced Tuesday, Nov. 9.

A sophomore from Eldoret, Kenya, Mengich earned her second-career All-Region nod after finishing 20th out of a field of 237 competitors at the NCAA-II Central Region Championship meet Saturday, Nov. 6, in Joplin, Mo., with a 6k time of 21:33.1.

A total of 200 men from 81 different programs and 200 women from 94 different programs earned the distinction of All-Region by virtue of a top-25 finish at one of the eight regional sites this past weekend. Only athletes from USTFCCCA member programs are eligible for awards.

In addition to being named all-region, Mengich was also named All-MIAA First Team after finishing seventh out of 109 runners at the MIAA Championships Oct. 23 in Kearney, Neb.
