BOLIVAR, Mo. -- No. 10-ranked Jennies Golf claimed a 23-stroke victory at the Midwest Intercollegiate Tuesday, Mar. 19 at SIlo Ridge Golf Club. The Jennies shot a two day total of 604 (+28) while runner-up Rogers State posted a 627 (+51) and third place Missouri Western carded a 631 (+55). This is the Jennies second tournament win this spring.
The Jennies were led by sophomore
Libby Green, who earned individual runner-up honors for the tournament. Green improved in her second round, firing a 70 (-2) for a two day total of 146 (+2). Her final round was a bogey-free round with 16 pars and 2 birdies. Green's 70 was also the low round of the tournament both days.Â
Next for the Jennies was sophomore MIa Rallo who finished tied for third. Rallo posted a second round 76 (+4) to end the tournament at 7-over par (151).Â
Senior
Claire Solovic also finished in the top-10, tied for ninth place. Solovic improved from day one with a 77 (+5), finishing the tournament at 12-over par (156).
Redshirt senior
Hayley Jones and Junior
Nicole Rallo rounded out the Jennies scoring, both finishing tied for 13th. Jones posted a round two 80 (+8), ending the tournament at 13-over par (157). Rallo also finished the tournament at 13-over par (157) after carding an improved second round of 74 (+2).Â
Individuals
Maya McVey and
Kiki Bruner also finished well. McVey, a freshman, finished the tournament tied for ninth at 12-over par with a final round 76 (+4). Bruner, a redshirt sophomore, ended tied for 22nd at 17-over par with a second round 80 (+8).
The Jennies are back on the course Monday, April 8 at the Arkansas Tech Women's Spring Regional in Springfield, Mo. at Rivercut Golf Course.Â
