EDMOND, Okla. – Central Oklahoma's Clayton Peterson hit a walk-off RBI double in the bottom of the 11th inning to lead the Bronchos to a 9-8 victory over No. 1-ranked Central Missouri Mules baseball in the opening game of a three-game MIAA series Thursday, April 21, at Wendell Simmons Field.
The Mules (33-5, 26-2 MIAA) and Bronchos (25-17, 17-11 MIAA) are slated to play game two of the series at 3 p.m. Friday, April 22.
Harrison Schnurbusch went 2-for-4 with his second homer of the season, a double and two RBIs while
Cole Moore drove in three runs on his fourth home run of the season, leading Central Missouri at the plate.
UCM reliever
Conner Wolf (3-1) took the loss on the mound after surrendering the game-winning, unearned run in the bottom of the 11th.
Garrett Takamatsu went 3-for-5 with a homer and three RBIs while Peterson went 3-for-6 with his game-winning double, pacing the Bronchos offensively.
Central Oklahoma reliever Kyler Patterson (1-0) picked up the win after allowing one earned run on one hit with five strikeouts and one walk in 4 2/3 innings.
