ARKANSAS CITY, Kan. – Michael Chrisman, John Prudhom and Cole Moore homered, and Collin Jones threw a complete-game shutout to lift ninth-ranked Central Missouri Mules baseball to its 12th straight win with a 13-0 triumph over the Newman Jets in seven innings Friday, March 18, at Tiger Ballpark.

The Mules (17-3, 11-0 MIAA) are slated to play the Jets (14-10, 4-7 MIAA) in a doubleheader at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 19, in Arkansas City, Kan., to wrap up the three-game MIAA series.

Chrisman went 3-for-5 with a home run and drove in a game-high four runs, while Brennen van Breusegen compiled a trio of hits, including a triple, with three RBIs, pacing UCM at the plate.

Central Missouri scored all 13 of its runs in the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh innings on the way to the victory.

Moore got the scoring going to the Mules in the fourth when he belted a 2-1 pitch over the right field wall for his third homer of the season before Donovan Ditto smacked an RBI single to right field, driving in Jacob Steele, and Chrisman hit an RBI single to right, plating Ditto for the 3-0 advantage.

Prudhom made it 4-0, UCM, with his team-best sixth home run of 2022 – a solo shot to dead-centerfield – in the top of the fifth.

After Ditto hit a lead-off double to left in the top of the sixth, Chrisman crushed a 2-1 offering over the right field wall for a two-run round-tripper, his second of the season, ballooning the UCM lead 6-0. van Breusegen roped an RBI triple to right-center to drive in Schnurbusch before scoring on Prudhom's RBI ground-out, increasing the Mule advantage to 8-0.

Central Missouri put the game away in the top of the seventh, igniting for five runs for the 13-0 lead.

Steele scored on an RBI fielder's choice from Isaiah Pani for the first run of the frame prior to Chrisman slashing an RBI single to center, scoring Garrett Pennington, and Schnurbusch doubling to left, allowing Pani to cross home plate for the second and third runs of the inning. van Breusegen provided the final two runs of the game for the Mules, driving in Schnurbusch and Chrisman with a two-RBI single to left.

Jones worked a quick bottom of the seventh inning with ground-out, pop-out and strikeout, sealing the win for UCM.
