HAYS, Kan. – University of Central Missouri Jennies cross country posted a team time of 1:34:17 to finish eighth out of 17 teams at the Fort Hays State Tiger Open Saturday, Oct. 9, at the Sand Plum Nature Trail.
The Jennies tallied 145 team points in the meet.
Junior
Lilian Busienei was UCM's top performer in Hays, Kan., finishing 12th out of 170 runners with a season-best 5K time of 18:21.1, while
Mariah Elmore also finished in the top-20, posting an 18:27.6 to secure a 17th place finish and wrapping up the Central Missouri top-25 finishers in the meet.
Westminster (Utah) earned the team title after posting 99 points and a 1:32:38.
Northwest Missouri's Caroline Cunningham earned the individual meet championship after tallying a 5K time of 17:33.8.
The Jennies are scheduled to return to action Saturday, Oct. 23, at the MIAA Cross Country Championships in Kearney, Neb.
