COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Central Missouri Jennies cross country compiled a team time of 1:54:53.30 to finish in second place out of nine teams at the 2021 Gans Creek Classic Friday, Oct. 1, at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course.
The Jennies are slated to return to action Friday, Oct. 8, at the Border Was at Principia College in Elsah, Ill.
Sophomore
Cynthia Togom paced UCM and finished third with a season-best, 6K time of 22:09.7, while
Mariah Elmore was sixth at 22:26.0 and
Risper Mengich was eighth at 22:59.1, rounding out the Jennies in the top-10.
Tabby Boldt and McKenzie Stucker both tallied top-20 showings, posting times of 23:35.7 and 23:42.8 for 14th and 17th, and
Emma Bassford compiled a top-25 performance, placing 22nd with a 6K time of 24:16.9, wrapping up UCM's top-25 finishers.
St. Mary's (Kan.) claimed the team title at the event, narrowly finishing ahead of the Jennies at 1:54:07.50, with UCM in second and Rogers State in third (1:57:03.00), rounding out the top-three.
Madison Nash of Missouri Western won the race with a time of 21:27.8.
