• Central Missouri travels to the state capital after suffering to MIAA road losses to begin the week.
• The Mules lost 51-77 to Central Oklahoma last Saturday, then fell to Newman 77-84 the following Monday.
• Lincoln also faced the Bronchos and the Jets earlier this week. The Blue Tigers earned their second MIAA win with a 74-72 overtime victory against Newman, then lost to Central Oklahoma 65-79.
• Central Missouri has yet to pick up a road victory this season.

WICHITA, Kan. (Jan. 6, 2020) - Playing in their second road game in the last 60 hours, the Central Missouri Mules Basketball Team came up short against Newman on Monday night. The 84-77 Jets victory was Newman's first MIAA win since joining the league last summer.
• After four lead changes in the first five minutes, the Mules began what would be a 9-0 run at the 14:18 mark.
• Central Missouri held the Jets offense from scoring for the next four minutes until a trip to the foul line by Marshawn Blackmon ended the run with a pair of free throws.
• The Mules saw their biggest lead of the game with a 13-point advantage with 5:37 left to play in the half.
• With a 32-19 UCM lead, Newman went on a 9-0 run which would help the Jets tie the game 35-35 at the half.
• Central Missouri began the second half on a 6-0 run, which the Jets then followed with a 10-0 run of their on.
• Back-to-back layups from
Gaven Pinkley and
Daniel Farris brought the Mules within five points as Newman lead 69-64 with 2:30 left on the clock. Newman followed up with a quick 5-0 run to lead 76-66 with under a minute to play.
• Newman's seven second-half three's helped the Jets see a 11-point advantage over the Mules four different times.
• The Jets had recorded their third-best shooting performance of the season, hitting 24-42 for 57.1% from the field and 10-15 for 77.8% from the three-point range.
• Central Missouri went 28-57 for 49.1% from inside the arc and finished 9-25 for 36% from outside.

Matt Wilkinson lead the Mules offense with 17 points. The senior finished 5-9 from the field, 1-5 form the three and 6-6 from the foul line. Wilkinson also brought down five rebounds.
• Farris recorded a new career-high of 16 points against the Jets while also finishing with five rebounds.

DeAndre Sorrells lead the Mules with three three's.

Kendale Hampton lead UCM with four assists, three steals and two blocks while also scoring 10 points.
Previously vs. Lincoln
• Central Missouri leads the all-time series against Lincoln 60-35. The series dates back to a 73-65 Blue Tigers victory in the 1954-55 season.
• From 2002 to 2017, the Mules won 18 consecutive games against the Blue Tigers.
• The Mules and Blue Tigers met twice in the 2018-19 season. Central Missouri won the first meeting in a 71-55 victory in the Multipurpose Building, then Lincoln on the second match up 78-59 win in the Mules final game of the season.
Individual Milestones

Matt Wilkinson surpassed the 500 career point marker in the first nine games this season. Wilkinson also surpassed 200 career rebounds on Monday night against Newman.
• In Central Missouri's last outing against Saint Mary's, Wilkinson recorded a career-high performance with 22 points.
• With 66 points this season,
Daniel Farris surpassed the 400 career point marker in the Mules upset over #1 Northwest Missouri. The junior guard is also nine assists away from 200 career assists.

Gaven Pinkley had a career-high game against Upper Iowa in the second week of the 2019-20 season. Pinkley scored a career-high of 21 points and brought down a career-high of 17 rebounds.

Michael Winger had a career-high shooting performance in UCM's 82-46 win over Central Christian on Nov. 30, 2019. The redshirt junior hit 7-8 from 87.5% from the field and 5-6 for 83.3% from the three point range to record a career-high of 21 points.
Scouting the Competition:
Lincoln Blue Tigers (5-8, 2-2 MIAA)
• Lincoln posted a 2018-19 overall record of 18-12 and finished 10-9 in the MIAA. The Blue Tigers were picked seventh in the MIAA Coaches Preseason Poll, one spot below the Mules.
• As a team, the Blue Tigers rank fifth in the MIAA in scoring offense (78.8) and fourth in scoring defense (67.3).
• Newman has the second-highest shooting percentage from outside the arc at 39.8% and also ranks third in the league with a team field goal percentage of 49.4%.
• The Blue Tigers are also sixth in the MIAA in defensive rebounding (26.9) and 10th in offensive rebounding (9.6), are ninth in the conference with 36.5 boards per night.
• Senior guard Jonell Burton is the Blue Tigers top scorer with 16.5 points per night while senior forward L'Kielynn Taylor leads Lincoln defense with 8.1 rebounds per game.
• Senior Marcel Burton leads the Blue Tigers with 22 three's on the season and is averaging 9.8 points per game.
• Junior Cameron Potts has Lincoln's team-high of 57 assists and 20 steals while also averaging 11.5 points per game.
Mules Feed:
• As a team, the Mules are currently shooting 44.2% from the field and 36.2% from the three-point range.
• After their last two outings, Central Missouri dropped from second in the MIAA in defensive field goal percentage to fourth. The Mules also rank third in scoring defense, allowing opponents to score an average of 65.6 points per game.

• Pinkley also ranks third in the MIAA with an average field goal percentage of 54.1.
• Winger leads the Mules from outside the arc with 18 three's on the season and posts a three-point field goal percentage of 48.6.

Daniel Farris leads the Mules with 44 assists which ranks in the top-10 of the MIAA. Farris also has the team-high of 19 steals.
