KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Central Missouri Mules basketball freshman guard
Lazerek Houston has been named to the NABC (National Association of Basketball Coaches) Division II All-Central Region First Team, announced on Monday, March 23.
Houston, the 2025-26 D2CCA (Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association) All-Central Region Player of the Year, MIAA Player of the Year, and MIAA Freshman of the Year, ranked in the top-10 nationally in field goals made (252) and points scored (706).
Houston had two ESPN SportsCenter Top 10 plays during the regular season, leading the team with five double-double performances, while scoring double-figures in 33 of the team's 34 contests, including 16 games with 20 or more and seven outings with 30 points or more.
Houston is one of three MIAA players to be named to the All-Central Region First Team, alongside Jack Bachelor and Dillon Claussen of Washburn, while four from the conference earned nods, including Second Teamer Matthew Willenborg of Central Oklahoma.
During his freshman season, Lazerek averaged 20.8 points, 5.1 assists, and four rebounds per game, helping the Mules make their first NCAA-II Tournament appearance since the 2014-15 season, advancing to the NCAA-II Central Region Semifinals.
