KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Mules basketball freshman guard
Lazerek Houston has been named to the 2025-26 Bevo Francis Award Top 25 Watch List, announced on Sunday, March 15, by the Small College Basketball National Awards Committee.
Houston, a native of Lincoln, Neb. ranks top-10 in the nation in field goals made (249) and points scored (694), while leading the Mules with five double-double performances on the year.
Through 32 games, Lazerek is averaging 21 points, 5.2 assists, and four rebounds per game, highlighted by seven 30-point outings, while being the lone freshman featured and one of three players from the MIAA on the list.
Central Missouri continues play in the 2026 NCAA-II Central Regional tonight at 5:00 p.m., as they take on the two-seeded Oklahoma Baptist Bison (28-3, 20-2 GAC), inside Lee Arena on the campus of Washburn in Topeka, Kan.
