STORY LINES
• The Central Missouri Mules resume MIAA play hosting Southwest Baptist on Wednesday night, January 2 at 7:30 p.m. at the UCM Multipurpose Building.
• The Mules are coming off a 1-1 trip to the Las Vegas Challenge in Las Vegas, Nev. The Mules lost to the host school, Dixie State, 89-77 in the opener, before holding off Arkansas-Fort Smith 76-75 for a win in the finale.
• The Mules come in at 7-3 overall and 1-1 in MIAA play after their 1-1 trip to Las Vegas.
• Central Missouri has won three of their last four games, including two straight at home before the break.
• Southwest Baptist is 2-8 overall and 0-2 in MIAA play coming into the game. The Bearcats lost 79-71 at Arkansas-Monticello on December 17 in their last game out.

QUICK HITS
• Central Missouri is in its 108th season of men's basketball.
• Central Missouri is second all-time in wins in NCAA Division II with 1,570.
• The Mules are averaging 74.0 points per game and giving up 68.0 points per contest.
• Central Missouri is shooting nearly 45 percent from the floor, but 32 percent from three-point range. The Mules give up 43 percent shooting overall and 38 percent from beyond the arc.
• In their seven wins, UCM is holding the opposition to 40 percent shooting and the Mules out-rebound their opponents by three boards per game. In their three losses, the Mules have given up 50 percent shooting and have been out-rebounded by over three boards per outing.

SERIES HISTORY
• This is the 58th meeting all-time between Central Missouri and Southwest Baptist. The Mules lead the all-time series with SBU 35-22.
• Central Missouri swept last season's series winning 75-70 in Warrensburg and 91-80 in Bolivar.
• The Mules have won three straight games in the series and seven of the last eight.
• Central Missouri has won eight straight games in Warrensburg. The lost loss to SBU in the Multipurpose Building was a 84-81 setback during the 2004-05 season.
• UCM is 17-6 against the Bearcats during the Kim Anderson era, including 10-1 in games played in Warrensburg.

LAST MEETING WITH SOUTHWEST BAPTIST
• The Mules out-scored SBU 54-45 in the second half en route to a 91-80 win in Bolivar on January 21, 2012.
Dominique Long scored a then-career-high 24 points on 7-of-11 shooting to lead the Mules. Four Mules in all scored in double figures with Lance Beckwith adding 19, Widgett Washington 11 points and Boo Hunter chipped in 10.
• UCM out-rebounded SBU 43-33, but did give up 13 offensive boards to the Bearcats.
• The Mules used a 13-2 run in the second half to break open a two point game.
• Central Missouri committed 16 turnovers in the game compared to 13 for Southwest Baptist.
• The Mules shot 58 percent from the field in the game, including 53 percent from three-point range.
• The Mules were 23-of-32 from the foul line for 72 percent, while the Bearcats were 17-of-27 for 63 percent.

SCOUTING SOUTHWEST BAPTIST
• The Bearcats come into the game at 2-8 overall and 0-2 in MIAA play. SBU lost 79-71 at Arkansas-Monticello back on December 17.
• Southwest Baptist lost their first two MIAA games at Washburn (91-80) and at home to Central Oklahoma (88-82).
• The Bearcats have lost four straight games with their last win coming back on November 23. A 91-63 win over Alaska-Fairbanks at Bellingham, Wash.
• SBU averages 67.7 points per game as a team, while giving up 78.4 points per contest.
• The Bearcats shoot 43 percent from the field and 34 percent from the three-point line. SBU is 84-of-242 from beyond the arc, the second most three-point attempts in the MIAA.
• SBU leads the league in three-pointers made per game at 8.4.
• Two SBU players are averaging in double figures led by Preston Guiot's 10.8 points per game. Damion Hooks averages 10.3 points per contest.
• Guiot is also fifth in the conference in assists at 4.7 per outing.
• Opponents are shooting 49 percent from the floor against Southwest Baptist, including 43 percent from beyond the arc. Opponents also have more free throws made (140) than the Bearcats have attempts (139).
• SBU is out-rebounded by opponents by a 34.5-31.7 margin and the Bearcats are averaging 17.5 turnovers per game.
• The Bearcats are being out-scored 41.6-34.0 in the second half of games this season.

LAST TIME OUT
• The Mules split a pair of games at the Las Vegas Challenge hosted by Dixie State the Orleans Arena. UCM lost to Dixie State 89-77 before rebounding for a 76-75 win over Arkansas-Fort Smith in the tournament finale.
• The Mules and Dixie State were tied early on at 14-14, but the Red Storm used a 17-2 run to pull away. They led by as many as 29 in the contest before settling for the 12 point win.
Dominique Long led the Mules in scoring with 15 points and Widgett Washington chipped in 12.
• The Mules fell behind early to Arkansas-Fort Smith, but used a 13-0 run to open an eight-point lead over the Lions.
• UAFS battled back to tie the game and then out-scored the Mules 17-9 the rest of the half to lead 40-35 at the intermission.
• UCM opened the second half on a 10-2 run to regain the lead before the teams battled back-and-forth throughout the second half.
• The Mules scored the final six points of the game after falling behind 75-70 with 1:19 to play in the game.
Lance Beckwith made two free throws with 3.9 seconds left to give UCM the lead for good. Beckwith led the Mules with a career-high 23 points. He also added six rebounds and a career-high five steals.
• Long added 12 points and six boards and Ryan Magdziarz added a career-high 11 points.
• UCM was out-shot 48 percent to 39 percent and the Mules were just 2-of-14 from beyond the arc.
• The Mules were 26-of-32 from the free throw line compared to 15-of-16 for UAFS.
• UCM had just eight turnovers and the Mules turned 20 Lion turnovers into 25 points.

MULES IN MIAA PLAY
• The Mules are 131-59 in MIAA play during the Kim Anderson era after a 72-65 win over Emporia State on December 8.
• UCM was 15-5 in conference play last year earning a share of the MIAA regular season title, the fourth under Anderson.
• Central Missouri's best MIAA record under Anderson was an 18-2 mark in the 2009-10 season.
• The Mules have captured four MIAA regular season championships and three MIAA tournament titles under Kim Anderson.

THE MULES AT HOME
• Central Missouri is 133-21 at the Multipurpose Building under Kim Anderson after the 74-66 win over William Woods on December 15.
• Over the last eight years, UCM is 116-11 at home. Over that same time period the Mules are 49-1 against non-conference opponents at home and 67-10 in MIAA play.
• The Mules are 444-88 in their 37th season playing home games at the Multi.

THE MULES ON THE ROAD
• The Mules are 59-48 in road games during the Kim Anderson era after dropping their first road game of the season, 77-72 at Fort Hays State on December 5.
• UCM was 7-4 on the road last season.

THE MULES IN NEUTRAL SITE GAMES
• The Mules are 38-18 in neutral site games during the Kim Anderson era, including 2-2 this season after splitting a pair of games at the Bearcat Classic after Thanksgiving and splitting a pair of games at the Las Vegas Challenge to close out 2012.

A UCM WIN WOULD...
• Give the Mules an 8-3 overall record for the first second time in three years.
• Give the Mules a 2-1 MIAA record for the first time since the 2009-10 season.
• Give UCM four straight wins over Southwest Baptist and extend their series lead to 36-22.

A UCM LOSS WOULD...
• Drop the Mules to 7-4 overall for the second straight year.
• Give the Mules a 1-2 conference mark for the third straight season.
• Snap UCM's three-game winning streak over Southwest Baptist.
• Pull SBU to within 35-23 in the all-time series and give them just their second win in twelve tries in Warrensburg during the Kim Anderson era.

LONG TO THE LINE
• Senior forward Dominique Long is ninth in the MIAA in free throw percentage at 82.3 percent (51-of-62). Last year, Long shot 85.8 percent from the foul line, the ninth best single-season percentage in UCM history.

WEBB NEAR THE TOP IN FIELD GOAL PERCENTAGE
• Senior forward Matt Webb leads the team and is ninth in the MIAA in field goal percentage at 55.7 percent. He has made 34-of-61 shot attempts this season.

WASHINGTON DISTRIBUTING THE BALL
• Senior guard Widgett Washington leads the team and is ninth in the MIAA in assists at 4.1 per game. There are nine players in the MIAA averaging 4.0 assists/game or more. Craig Nicholson of FHSU leads the league at 6.8 per game. Washington is also tied for fifth in the league with 2.0 steals per game.

ANDERSON LEADING THE WAY
• Central Missouri head coach Kim Anderson has compiled a career record of 229-85 (.729) in his 11th season leading the Mules.
• He has led UCM to four MIAA regular season titles, more than any other coach in school history, three MIAA tournament championships, two Regional championships and two Final Four appearances.
• Anderson recorded career win No. 200 with a 65-61 win against Washburn on February 9, 2011.
• Anderson is one of only five coaches in Central Missouri history to record 100 or more career wins - Anderson (229), Tad. C. Reid (178), Earl Keth (159), Jim Wooldridge (131) and Lynn Nance (114).
• Three of the top nine single-season scoring leaders in Central Missouri history have come during the tenure of head coach Kim Anderson.

MULES BASKETBALL HISTORY
• In the 108th season of UCM basketball the Mules have compiled a 1,570-914 (.632) record in 2,484 total games.
• The Mules have won 20 or more games 21 times in the history of the program.
• Central Missouri has won 30 or more games twice, both during the Kim Anderson era.
• The Mules are the second winningest program by victories in NCAA-II.
• UCM has won or shared 22 MIAA regular season championships and five MIAA tournament titles.

• In the Kim Anderson era, 20 former players have gone on to play professional basketball.

A TRADITION OF EXCELLENCE IN THE ATHLETIC ARENA
• Following the fall 2012 season, Central Missouri has won a combined 191 MIAA regular-season conference championships in 14 league sports to lead all schools.
• During the 2011-12 school year UCM captured seven MIAA regular season and three tournament championships.
• Since 1983, the tenure of Athletic Director Jerry Hughes, UCM has won or shared 137 MIAA championships, more than any other league school.
• Central Missouri has won five national championships since 1980 (men's and women's basketball in 1984, baseball in 1994 and 2003, and women's bowling in 2003) and seven national championships overall.

A TRADITION OF EXCELLENCE IN THE CLASSROOM
• The 500+ Central Missouri student-athletes received 245 Academic Awards from the MIAA office for the 2011-12 academic year.
• 195 UCM student-athletes were named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
• 32 UCM student-athletes were named MIAA Scholar Athletes with at least a 3.5 GPA and having earned All-MIAA honors in their respective sport.
• 18 UCM student-athletes were named MIAA Academic Excellence Award winners with a 4.0 GPA.
