Biography

2015-16: (Outdoor): Earned his second All-American award in the javelin throw by placing fourth at the NCAA Championships … Set a new school record at the national meet with a throw of 216’  8” … Finished second at the MIAA Championships, throwing the spear 210’ 4” … Threw over 200 feet in four of the six meets he competed in … Named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll and an MIAA Scholar Athlete.

2014-15: Redshirted in 2014-15.

2013-14: (Outdoor): Set the school record in the javelin with a throw of 214’ 7” to win the MIAA Championship ... Qualified for the Division II National meet where he finished 15 in the javelin, throwing 197’ 6” ... Also took home first place honors in the javelin at the UCM Mule Relays and Pittsburg State Gorilla Invite ... Named an MIAA Scholor Athlete and to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.

2012-13: (Outdoor): Finished 8th in javelin at the NCAA Championships, with a career-high mark and new school record of 209’ 4”... MIAA Champion in the javelin... Won the javelin at the Sam Williams Twilight Qualifier.

Before UCM: Named All-Conference three times, twice earning All-District honors.

Personal: Safety Management major ... Son of Chuck and Marcy Swearingin ... Sister, Brooke, was a three-time All-American thrower for the Jennies, who graduated in 2015.
