Scene Setter

The Receiving Votes Central Missouri volleyball team begins the 2026 season on Thursday, August 27, as they take on No. 6 Barry Buccaneers at 3:30 p.m. (CST) in the opening match of the Sandy Hoffman Memorial Tournament, inside the Dana Center, on the campus of Bentley University in Waltham, Mass.
The Jens continue play with a pair of matches on Saturday, August 28, beginning with No. 18 Lynn at 9:00 a.m. (CST), before a matchup with the host school, the Falcons at 2:30 p.m. (CST).
Central Missouri concludes play at the Sandy Hoffman Memorial Tournament on Saturday, August 29 against the (Receiving Votes) Grand Valley State Lakers at 10:30 a.m. (CST).
The Jens are receiving votes in the AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches' Association) Taraflex Division II Preseason Poll, released on Monday, August 17. Central Missouri is one of six teams from the MIAA to be featured in the poll.

How to Watch

Every match of the Sandy Hoffman Memorial Tournament will be available on a pay-per-view basis through FloSports. Coverage begins at 3:30 p.m. (CST) on Thursday afternoon, 9:00 a.m. Friday morning, and 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning, from the Dana Center, on the campus of Bentley University in Waltham, Mass.

Meet the Jens

Central Missouri returns 12 players from last year's squad, while adding two transfers, and four freshmen.
Middle blocker/Opposite Ashlynn Jaccard spent the previous two seasons playing for Cowley CC (Kan.) while sophomore Bella Holcomb transferred from Butler CC (Kan.).
Setter Chloe Rauner (Omaha, Neb.), outside hitter Nora Wiley (Quincy, Ill.), middle blocker/right side Mia Lieberman (Caseyville, Ill.), and defensive specialist/libero Evynn Olsen (Omaha, Neb.) are entering their first season of collegiate volleyball.

Series History

No. 6 Barry: Heading into play on Thursday afternoon, the Jens and Barry have played five times with UCM holding a 3-2 advantage following a five-set victory over the 13^th ranked Buccaneers in the opening match of the 2019 Colorado Premier Challenge.
No. 18 Lynn: Friday morning's match between the Fighting Knights and Central Missouri will be the first-ever contest between both teams.
No. 22 Bentley: Bentley and the Jens will meet for just the third time in program history Friday afternoon, with Central Missouri holding a 2-0 advantage following a sweep of the Falcons during the 2007 Bentley Invitational.
RV Grand Valley State: Heading into play on Saturday morning, the Lakers and Central Missouri will play for the sixth time in program history. The Jens hold a 5-0 record following last season's sweep of the then 13^th ranked team in the country in the opening match of the Hampton Inn & Suites Grand Rapids Downtown Classic.

Jens By the Numbers

A season ago, Central Missouri averaged 17.6 digs, 13.9 kills, 12.9 assists, 2.1 blocks, and 1.6 service aces per set in 28 matches.
2025 Honorable Mention All-MIAA selection Kaelyn McDonald's 87 total blocks ranked second for UCM defensively in the front row, adding 300 points, 232 kills, and a .299 hitting percentage. McDonald posted five or more blocks in nine matches, while having 12 matches with double-digit kills for good measure. In the winning effort at No. 1 Central Oklahoma (Oct. 4), the junior re-set her career-high mark of 16 kills on 28 swings (.500 hitting percentage), adding six total blocks, including two solo blocks.
2025 Honorable Mention All-MIAA selection Shaye Koski ranked second on the team with 279 kills, averaging 2.97 kills per set, with 87 digs and 41 blocks for good measure. The Parkville, Mo. native recorded double-digit kills in 17 matches, including a season-best 20 kills against Hillsdale (Sept. 12).
2024 Second Team All-MIAA selection Maya Fergerson was one of five Jens to eclipse 100 kills a season ago with 119, while averaging 1.86 kills per set, adding 27 total blocks and 22 digs for good measure. The Blue Springs, Mo. native recorded five or more kills in 14 matches a season ago, highlighted by a season-best 11 kills and a season-high five total blocks against Ouachita Baptist (Sept. 19).
Junior Brenna Kelly is the top returner in digs from last season, collecting 179 digs, averaging 2.06 per set, adding 18 service aces and 13 assists for good measure. The Aurora, Colo. native had double-digit digs in eight matches, highlighted by a season-best 19 digs in the winning effort over at No. 1 Central Oklahoma (Oct. 4).

UCM in the Polls

The Jens are receiving votes in the initial AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches Association) Poll after finishing the 2025 season with a record of 20-8 overall and 11-5 in the MIAA.
UCM is one of six MIAA teams recognized in this week's poll, alongside No. 7 Nebraska-Kearney, No. 8 Washburn, No. 12 Central Oklahoma, and No. 16 Missouri Western, while Emporia State is also receiving votes.

Next Serve

The Jens continue the 2026 campaign on Friday, Sept. 4, as they take on No. 9 Wayne State College (Neb.) at 11:00 a.m. (CST) in the opening match of the Colorado Premier Challenge, in Denver, Colo.
