WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- Five student-athletes from the NCAA Division II Central Region Champion University of Central Missouri Mules baseball team received College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors for their performances in the classroom and on the diamond during the 2026 season, it was announced Tuesday, June 2.
First baseman
Chase Wilcox, shortstop
Cole Kreisel, infielder
Cole Funkhouser, outfielder
Ryker Edwards, and relief pitcher
Sam Wyrick all garnered Academic All-District recognition for the 2026 season.Â
This is Wilcox's second consecutive Academic All-District honor, while it is the first for Kreisel, Funkhouser, Edwards, and Wyrick.Â
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Baseball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom.Â
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk in the
linked release and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 23. Â
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
