Former Mules Continue to Excel in Major League Organizations

It's MLB Draft week for the 2026 NCAA Division II Central Regional Champion University of Central Missouri Mules Baseball team. The 2026 MLB Draft is scheduled for Saturday, July 11 (Rounds 1-4) and Sunday, July 12 (Rounds 5-20) in Philadelphia, Pa.

Leading up to the start of the draft, several former Mules are excelling within major league organizations. 
Max Holy (2023-2024)
Signed by the Houston Astros as a free agent in 2024

Former UCM standout shortstop Max Holy was promoted to play for the Houston Astros Double-A Affiliate Corpus Christi (Texas) Hooks in 2026. In 50 games with the Hooks in 2026, Holy has 39 hits in 182 at-bats, including six doubles and five homers, going along with 20 RBI, 32 runs scored, 32 walks, 14 stolen bases, and a .666 OPS.

In addition to Holy, the Mules have another connection to Corpus Christi: former UCM pitcher and graduate assistant coach Ricky Rivera serves as the manager of the Hooks.

JD McReynolds (2022-2025)
Drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 10th round of the 2025 MLB Draft

Former University of Central Missouri All-American right-handed relief pitcher JD McReynolds has enjoyed a stellar 2026 season so far with the Rangers' Single-A Affiliate, the Hickory (N.C.) Crawdads. Through 21 appearances on the mound, McReynolds is 5-2 with a 3.38 ERA and four saves. He's allowed just 10 earned runs on 18 hits with 39 strikeouts in 26 2/3 innings pitched.

Chase Heath (2022-2025)
Drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 20th round of the 2025 MLB Draft

Former UCM All-MIAA catcher Chase Heath has played in 62 games for the Cardinals' Single-A Affiliate, the Palm Beach (Florida) Cardinals. Heath has 47 hits in 225 at-bats, including 11 doubles and six home runs, in addition to 28 RBI, 25 runs scored, 27 walks, and a .642 OPS. Behind the plate, Heath has thrown out 24 runners attempting to steal in 2026.

Nathan Hall (2023-2025)
Drafted by the New York Mets in the sixth round of the 2025 MLB Draft

Former Central Missouri right-handed pitcher Nathan Hall just recently completed the rehab process after an injury and is competing for the Mets' Rookie Affiliate, the FCL Mets. He's appeared and started in four games with the FCL Mets.

Mason Green (2018-2021)
Drafted in the 12th round of the 2021 MLB Draft by the Colorado Rockies

Former UCM standout All-American left-handed pitcher Mason Green is currently playing for the Colorado Rockies Triple-A Affiliate, the Albuquerque (N.M.) Isotopes. In 28 appearances and two starts this season, he is 3-2 with a 4.87 ERA and has allowed just 24 earned runs on 57 hits with 44 strikeouts in 44 1/3 innings pitched.
