Kaira Mannio of Jennies Track & Field have been selected as the May 2026 Central Bank Student-Athletes of the Month.
Sam Wyrick, So., Mules Baseball
From nominator: "He has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership and initiative, serving as a strong leader within his class group and contributing meaningfully to every project. During the field trip to the Kansas Speedway, he impressed everyone by proactively engaging with our host, Mr. Greg Scott, showing both professionalism and curiosity. His dedication and excellence were also reflected in his great scores on all class assignments."
Kaira Mannio, R-So., Jennies Track & Field
From nominator: "Kaira is a fantastic student. She is engaged in classroom discussion and projects. She works hard and shows diligence in all of her classwork. This semester, she worked with an external client on a class project. The client loved her copywriting so much she used it in a social media campaign the next day! A true testament to her dedication to crafting marketing campaigns and her creativity."

- Any UCM faculty or staff member can submit a nomination for the honor.
- Any current student-athlete in good academic standing is eligible for the award. Criteria for the accolade include academic performance, classroom engagement, and demonstration of commitment to scholarship. Athletic performance is not a determining factor in the process.
