EMPORIA, Kan. – Kristen Jones earned First Team All-America accolades in the women's heptathlon, highlighting day two of competition for University of Central Missouri Track & Field at the 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships on Friday, May 22, at Francis G. Welch Stadium on the Emporia State University campus.
Multi-Events
- Jones secured her first-career All-America recognition in the heptathlon after tallying a personal-best 5,271 points to place seventh. Her 5,271 points rank fifth-best in school history. Jones placed sixth in the long jump (5.55m/18-2.50), first in the javelin (personal-best 46.22m/151-8), and ninth in the 800m run (2:24.12) on Friday to round out the two-day, seven-event competition. Her mark in the javelin is sixth-best in school history.
Jumps
- Zachary Proctor earned Second Team All-America honors in the men's high jump after placing 12th with a mark of 2.05m (6-8.75).
Prelims
- Nolan Vancauwemberghe posted the top time in the men's 110m hurdles prelims at 13.67 to secure a spot in the final.
- Grizell Scarlett qualified for the women's 200m dash final after placing third in the prelims with a time of 23.36.
- Chika Bekwunye finished 16th in the women's 100m hurdles prelims with a time of 13.90, earning Honorable Mention All-American recognition.
- All finals are scheduled for Saturday.
Throws
- Marley Sands earned Honorable Mention All-America recognition in the women's discus after finishing 17th with a mark of 44.17m (144-11).
UCM Track & Field will wrap up the 2026 NCAA-II Outdoor Championships on Saturday, May 23, in Emporia, Kan.
