NEW ORLEANS, La. – Nine University of Central Missouri Track & Field student-athletes were named to the 2026 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Central Region Team, it was announced Wednesday, May 13.
Chika Bekwunye (100m hurdles, 4x100m relay),
Marianna Bizon (1,500m run),
Emily Meeks (4x100m relay),
Grizell Scarlett (100m dash, 200m dash, 4x100m relay),
Addison Throckmorton (javelin), and
Anayla Waters (4x100m relay) earned all-region honors for the Jennies, while
Ariel Kerr (100m dash),
Cooper Palmer (5,000m run, 10,000m run), and
Nolan Vancauwemberghe (110m hurdles) garnered all-region recognition for the Mules.
In order to be named All-Central Region, individuals must finish in the top five in each event in the Central Region.
Scarlett ranks first in both the 100m and 200m dashes, Bizon is third in the 1,500m run, Bekwunye is fourth in the 100m hurdles, and Throckmorton is second in the javelin, while the Jennies 4x100m relay of Waters, Bekwunye, Meeks, and Scarlett is first in the region.
Vancauwemberghe is first in the 110m hurdles, Palmer is third in the 5,000m run and fourth in the 10,000m run, and Kerr is fourth in the 100m dash.
UCM Track & Field is scheduled to compete in the NCAA-II Outdoor Track & Field Championships May 21-23 in Emporia, Kan.
