AUSTIN, Texas, and EMPORIA, Kan. – Grizell Scarlett continued her record-breaking 2025-26 season, setting a new school record in the 100m dash, and
Nolan Vancauwemberghe posted the second-fastest time in school history in the 110m hurdles, leading UCM Track & Field action on Friday, April 3, at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin, Texas.
The Mules and Jennies also had several other notable performances at the Texas Relays and at the Emporia State Midwest Classic in Emporia, Kan., on Friday.
Texas Relays
Sprints/Hurdles
- Scarlett clocked a provisional, personal best, and school record time of 11.23 to finish eighth in the women's 100m dash prelims and earn a spot in Saturday's final. Scarlett was the only NCAA Division II runner to earn a spot in the final. Her time of 11.23 is the fastest in Division II this season.
- Vancauwemberghe ran a provisional and personal best time of 13.77 to finish eighth in the prelims of the men's 110m hurdles and secure a spot in the final on Saturday. His time is the second-fastest in school history and Division II this season. Similar to Scarlett, Vancauwemberghe is the only Division II competitor to advance to the final.
- Chika Bekwunye was the top Division II performer in the women's 100m hurdles university/college division final, placing seventh with a personal best 14.21.
- Emily Meeks ran a personal best 11.84 to finish 25th in the women's 100m dash university/college timed final. That time ties for second-fastest in school history.

Multi-Events
- Kristen Jones won the women's heptathlon with a provisional and personal best 4,962 points. She posted top-five finishes in five of seven events, including winning the long jump, placing second in the javelin and 200m dash, third in the 800m run, and fourth in the 100m hurdles. Marah Klover also compiled a top-five finish, placing fifth with a personal best 4,425 points. Â
Sprints/Hurdles
- Michenainda Aritus placed first in the women's 100m hurdles with a personal best time of 14.18. She also won the women's long jump with a mark of 5.63m (18-05.75).

- Marley Sands placed ninth in the women's discus with a mark of 41.92m (137-06).
UCM Track & Field will conclude competition at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays on Saturday, April 4. Friday was the final day of action at the ESU Midwest Classic.
