VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Grizell Scarlett finished as National Runner-Up in both the 60m and 200m dashes, and
Nolan Vancauwemberghe secured First Team All-America recognition in the 60m hurdles, leading UCM Track & Field on the final day of the 2026 NCAA-II Indoor Championships Saturday, March 14, inside the Virginia Beach Sports Center.
Sprints/Hurdles
- Scarlett finished as the National Runner-Up in both the 60m dash and 200m dash, securing two First Team All-American accolades. Scarlett posted a time of 7.33 for second place in the 60m dash before clocking a time of 23.58 for second in the 200m dash. Scarlett is the first All-American in Jennies Track & Field history in both events.
- Vancauwemberghe earned First Team All-American honors after placing fifth in the men's 60m hurdles final with a time of 7.84. It's his first-career All-America honor. He becomes the third Mules Track & Field student-athlete to earn All-America accolades in the event and the first since Parker Wormek in 2024.
Jumps
- Zachary Proctor was named a Second Team All-American after tying for ninth in the men's high jump, clearing 2.06m (6-09.00).
Multi-Events
- Kristen Jones secured Honorable Mention All-America recognition after finishing in 13th place in the pentathlon with 3,593 points.
For the two-day meet, UCM Track & Field posted four First Team All-American performances in
Landon Mason (Men's Weight Throw), Vancauwemberghe (Men's 60m hurdles), and Scarlett (60m dash, 200m dash).
In the final team standings, the Jennies finished 12th with 16 points, and the Mules tied for 32nd with five points.
The Mules and Jennies begin their 2026 Outdoor Season by hosting the UCM Invitational on March 20 in Warrensburg.
