PITTSBURG, Kan. – Kristen Jones finished fourth in the women's pentathlon to lead University of Central Missouri Track & Field on the opening day of competition at the 2026 MIAA Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday, Feb. 27, inside the Robert W. Plaster Center.
Jones compiled a provisional and personal best 3,686 points for her fourth-place finish. She finished runner-up in the long jump with a mark of 5.82m (19-01.25), fourth in both the high jump (personal best 1.58m/5-02.25) and 800m run (personal best time of 2:23.56), fifth in the 60m hurdles (personal best time of 9.12), and 10th in the shot put (personal best 9.83m/32-03.00).
Marah Klover finished just outside the top 10 in 11th with a personal best 3,132 points, and
Journey Sander was 16th with 2,496 points, respectively.
With four out of seven events completed in the men's heptathlon,
Owen Koski is seventh with 2,597 points. Koski placed fifth in the 60m dash (personal best time of 7.23), sixth in the high jump (1.79m/5-10.50), seventh in the long jump (personal best 6.39m/20-11.50), and ninth in the shot put (10.29m/33-09.00).
Koski will wrap up the heptathlon Saturday morning with the 60m hurdles, pole vault, and 1,000m run.
The Mules and Jennies are back in action for day two of the MIAA Indoor Championships Saturday, Feb. 28, in Pittsburg, Kan.
