KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- University of Central Missouri Jennies Track & Field student-athlete
Grizell Scarlett has been voted the MIAA Women's Track Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Tuesday, Feb. 24, by the conference office.
Scarlett, a junior from Kingston, Jamaica, who was also named the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division II National Athlete on Monday, Feb. 23, won the women's 60m dash with a provisional and personal-best time of 7.25 at the Arkansas Qualifier on Friday, Feb. 20, in Fayetteville, Ark. That time broke her own school record set earlier this season, ranks as the top time in NCAA Division II this season, and is tied for the ninth-fastest time in NCAA-II history.
UCM Track & Field is scheduled to compete in the MIAA Indoor Track & Field Championships Feb. 27 through March 1 in Pittsburg, Kan.
