PITTSBURG, Kan., and FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Central Missouri Track & Field teams wrapped up a busy weekend of action at the Pittsburg State Russ Jewett Gorilla Classic and the University of Arkansas Tyson Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 14, inside the Robert W. Plaster Center in Pittsburg, Kan., and the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Ark.
Russ Jewett Gorilla Classic
Distance
- Marianna Bizon ran a personal-best and provisional time of 9:50.32 to finish second in the women's 3,000m run. Her time ranks second-fastest in school history.
Jumps
- The Mules had two top 10 performances in the men's high jump invite division. Wyatt Irwin was fourth with a mark of 2.05m (6-08.75) while Zachary Proctor was sixth with a mark of 1.99m (6-06.25).
- Landon Childs placed eighth in the men's pole vault, clearing a height of 4.78m (15-08.25).
Sprints/Hurdles
Throws
- Briley Wishard compiled a top 10 performance in the women's shot put, placing ninth with a mark of 13.59m (44-07.00).
Tyson Invitational
- Grizell Scarlett was the top NCAA-II performer in the women's 200m dash at the Tyson Invitational, clocking a provisional time of 23.78 to place 27th in a field of numerous Division I competitors.
UCM Track & Field returns to action Feb. 20 at the Arkansas Qualifier in Fayetteville and the Northwest Missouri State Friday Night Lights Meet in Maryville, Mo.
