KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the second time this season, University of Central Missouri Jennies Basketball's
Reese Schaaf has been voted the MIAA Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Monday, Feb. 23, by the conference office.
Schaaf, a senior guard/forward from El Dorado Springs, Mo., averaged a double-double on the week with 20 points and 13 rebounds in the Jennies' two wins at Rogers State and Central Oklahoma Feb. 19 and 21.
At Rogers State on Feb. 19, Schaaf netted 23 points on 8-of-16 shooting from the field, including a 2-of-4 performance from three-point range, and a 5-of-6 showing at the free-throw line, and pulled down 14 rebounds for the double-double.
In UCM's victory at Central Oklahoma on Feb. 21, Schaaf scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for her team and MIAA-best 14th double-double of the season.
On the week, Schaaf was 13-of-25 from the floor (50 percent), 5-of-7 from three-point range (71 percent), and 9-of-11 at the free-throw line for 82 percent.
The Jennies are scheduled to host the Missouri Southern Lions on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 5:30 p.m. inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center in Warrensburg.
