WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The annual University of Central Missouri Mules Baseball First Pitch Banquet is scheduled for Saturday, March 28, inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center on the University of Central Missouri campus.
This year's event is presented by Harris, Sommer & Peppard, LLC law firm located in downtown Warrensburg.
"We are excited to partner with UCM on an excellent event celebrating the continued excellence of Mules Baseball," Adam Sommer of Harris, Sommer & Peppard said. "Consistent success is not something that happens overnight. The example set by this program lifts the greater Warrensburg community."
The banquet, now in its 10th year, serves as an opportunity to celebrate the storied tradition of Mules Baseball. Through the fundraising banquet, the Mules have raised $539,618 to address equipment needs, enhance the student-athlete experience, supplement the operational budget, and implement facility improvements.
Former Mules Baseball standout and First Team All-American outfielder Erik Webb, who played for Central Missouri from 2017-2021, as well as the 2016 MIAA Regular Season, Tournament, and NCAA Division II Central Regional Champion Mules Baseball Team, and the 2021 MIAA Regular Season, Tournament, and NCAA-II Central Regional Champion, and NCAA-II National Runner-Up Mules Baseball Team will be enshrined into the University of Central Missouri Mules Baseball Diamond Club at the event.
This year's Harris, Sommer & Peppard First Pitch Banquet keynote speaker will be former Kansas City Royals standout left fielder, Alex Gordon.
A three-time MLB All-Star, eight-time Gold Glove winner, and World Series Champion, Gordon was a cornerstone of the Royals' 2015 championship team and one of the franchise's most respected leaders.
Gordon becomes the fifth World Series Champion to headline the Harris, Sommer & Peppard First Pitch Banquet, continuing a remarkable tradition that brings together Mules Baseball alumni, supporters, and community leaders in backing the next generation of student-athletes.
Registration for the event is now open! Sponsors at the Grand Slam level and above will receive exclusive access to a VIP Meet & Greet with Gordon, beginning at 5 p.m. The silent auction viewing and fundraising games will also open at 5 p.m., followed by remarks, dinner, and the evening program at 7 p.m.
