  • The Jens continue MIAA play with a pair of matches on the road beginning Friday, Oct. 3, as they take on the Arkansas-Fort Smith Lions at 6:00 p.m. before a matchup with No. 1 Central Oklahoma Saturday, Oct.4, with first serve at 1:00 p.m. inside Hamilton Field House in Edmond, Okla.
  • UCM opened MIAA play this past weekend, splitting a pair of matches, falling to #4 Nebraska Kearney Friday, Sept. 26, by a final score of 3-1, before sweeping the Fort Hays State Tigers Saturday, Sept. 27, inside Gross Memorial Coliseum in Hays, Kan.
 
Ronald McDonald House Night
  • Central Missouri volleyball is hosting its annual Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City Night, inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center in Warrensburg, against the Rockhurst Hawks.
  • Fans are eligible to receive $1 admission into the match with the donation of various household items including paper towels, disinfectant wipes, toilet paper, disposable coffee cups, non-latex gloves (sized medium to large), dryer sheets, liquid dish soap, paper plates, Swiffer Products (mops, wet & dry sheets), and disposable forks and spoons (knives are discouraged).
  • Fans who donate household items or make monetary donations will be entered into a drawing for a gift card courtesy of McDonald's of Warrensburg.
  • For those who are unable to attend the match but would like to make a donation, they can do so by clicking here.
 
How to Watch
  • All three matches will be available on a pay-per-view basis through the MIAA Network. Coverage begins Tuesday night at 6:00 p.m. inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center in Warrensburg.
  • Friday's coverage inside the Stubblefield Center begins at 6:00 p.m. from Fort Smith, Ark., before Saturday afternoon's match with the Bronchos begins at 1:00 p.m. inside Hamilton Field House in Edmond, Okla.  
 
Meet the Jens
  • Central Missouri returns 14 players from last year's squad while adding seven newcomers, including two transfers and four freshmen.
  • Setter Shelbi Wilson spent the previous two seasons playing for Hutchinson CC (Kan.) while redshirt junior Kaelyn McDonald transferred from MIAA foe Arkansas-Fort Smith.
  • Defensive specialist/libero Ragin Corwin (Blue Springs, Mo.), middle blocker Bria Dawson (Overland Park, Kan.), outside hitter Aspen Nelsen (Indianola, Iowa), and outside hitter Sammy Klotz (Hoyt, Kan.) are entering their first season of collegiate volleyball.  
 
Series History
  • Rockhurst: Heading into Tuesday night's match with the Hawks, Central Missouri holds a 15-7 record all-time against Rockhurst, including a 5-3 mark in Warrensburg. In their lone matchup a season ago inside Mason-Halpin Field House, the Hawks defeated UCM by a final score of 3-1 (23-25, 25-18, 25-19, 25-20).
  • Arkansas-Fort Smith: Friday marks the fifth meeting all-time between the Lions and Central Missouri, with UCM leading the series 3-1. A season ago, both teams split the season series, with both teams winning on the road as the Jens won 3-1 (25-18, 23-25, 25-22, 25-15) inside the Stubblefield Center.
  • No. 1 Central Oklahoma: Saturday afternoon's match will be the 29th all-time meeting between UCM and the Bronchos as the Jens hold a 21-7 advantage in the series. A season ago, Central Oklahoma won both matches played during the regular season, including a sweep of the Jens in Edmond on Friday, Nov. 1.  
 
Jens By the Numbers
  • Central Missouri is averaging 16.2 digs, 13.5 kills, 12.3 assists, 2.4 blocks, and 1.7 service aces per set through 11 matches this season. 
  • Senior Rachel Ziesman leads the team with 42 blocks overall, averaging 1.14 blocks per set while being one of three Jens to appear in 30 or more sets and start all 11 matches in 2025. The Shawnee, Kan. native, recorded 19 kills and nine total blocks this past weekend, highlighted by an eight-kill and six-block performance against No. 4 Nebraska Kearney inside the Health & Sports Center.
  • Middle blocker Kaelyn McDonald's 35 total blocks and 1.03 blocks per set are second for UCM defensively in the front row while posting 102 points, 75 kills, and 22 digs. McDonald has posted five or more kills in eight matches this season, highlighted by back-to-back nine-kill outings against Hillsdale (Sept. 12) and Findlay (Sept. 13). The UAFS transfer had 11 kills on 18 swings (.44 hitting percentage), adding three digs and two blocks against Fort Hays State (Sept. 27).
  • Redshirt sophomore Emma Siron leads the team with 132 points and 18 service aces, while adding a team-high 106 kills, averaging 2.72 kills per set. After being sidelined last season due to injury, the Sedalia, Mo. native has recorded nine or more kills in five matches this season, including a season-best 19 on 45 swings (.311 attack percentage) against Findlay (Sept. 13).
  • Libero Grace Winkelmann leads the Jens defensively in the back row with 191 digs, averaging 4.9 digs per set, adding 27 assists and nine service aces. The Rhineland, Mo. native has collected double-digit digs in 10 matches this season, including a match-high 31 against Ouachita Baptist (Sept. 19) en route to collecting her 1,500th career dig. The redshirt senior is in sole possession of 10th place in career digs with 1,575 and is 25 away from moving into 9th-place all-time.    
  • Wesley Chapel, Fla. native Kayla Baer leads the team with 387 assists, averaging 9.92 assists per set through 11 matches this season. The senior has added 87 digs, 24 kills, 14 blocks, and seven service aces while being one of three Jens to start all 11 matches in 2025. Baer has recorded three double-double performances for Central Missouri this season, including a match-best 43 assists and 12 digs, adding five blocks in the 3-1 victory over Ouachita Baptist (Sept. 19) in the opening match of the Comfort Inn Invitational in Warrensburg.  
 
UCM in the Polls
  • The Jens are receiving votes in the latest AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches Association) Poll after splitting a pair of matches this past weekend, falling at No. 4 Nebraska Kearney in four sets Friday night, before sweeping Fort Hays State Saturday afternoon in Hays, Kan.  
  • UCM is one of five MIAA teams recognized in this week's poll, alongside No. 1 Central Oklahoma, No. 3 Nebraska Kearney, No. 10 Washburn, and (Receiving Votes) Missouri Western.
 
UCM in the Postseason
  • The Jens made their 37th NCAA Tournament appearance in program history in 2023 and the first under head coach Caitlin Peterson, as the Jens have a 41-41 overall record, including eight NCAA Regional Championships.
