Steele, Johnson Named D2CCA All-Americans

MARSHALL, Minn. – University of Central Missouri Mules Baseball third baseman Jacob Steele and designated hitter Dayvin Johnson were voted to the 2025 Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) All-American Third Team, it was announced Wednesday, May 28.  

A senior third baseman from St. Peter's, Mo., Steele, the 2025 MIAA Co-Player of the Year, leads the Mules with a .389 batting average in 53 games this season. He has compiled a team-best 86 hits to go along with 70 runs, 15 doubles, three triples, 13 homers, 62 RBI, a .661 slugging percentage, 36 walks, a .483 on-base percentage and 11 stolen bases. Steele has 25 multi-hit games this season, including nine games with at least three hits. Defensively, Steele has committed just two errors in 169 chances for a .988 fielding percentage and tallied 101 assists and 66 putouts. This is Steele's second All-American honor of the season, as he was also a Third Team NCBWA All-American.

Johnson, a redshirt senior outfielder/designated hitter out of Gardner, Kan., is hitting .345 with 66 runs, 70 hits,15 doubles, a team-best four triples, 15 home runs, 58 RBI, a .680 slugging percentage, 26 walks, a .426 on-base percentage and 15 stolen bases in 51 contests. This is Johnson's first All-America honor.

Mules Baseball is the number two seed in the 2025 NCAA-II College World Series and is slated to face seventh-seeded Northwood (Mich.) in game one of the double-elimination tournament on Friday, May 30, at 5 p.m. CT at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C.

 The CCA All-America and All-Region baseball teams, which are selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC) from schools playing Division II baseball, were first established in 2007. This is the ninth year in which the program is solely sponsored by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association.

 The Division II Conference Commissioners Association encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
