WINGATE, N.C. – University of Central Missouri Mules Baseball student-athletes
JD McReynolds,
Jacob Steele and
Vance Tobol were named to the 2025 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) All-America Team, it was announced Wednesday, May 21, by the organization.
McReynolds was a Second Team All-American Relief Pitcher selection, Steele was a Third Team All-American Third Baseman honoree, and Tobol was an Honorable Mention All-American Outfielder recipient.
A senior right-handed relief pitcher from Sullivan, Mo., McReynolds is 6-0 with a team-best 1.38 ERA in 19 appearances and has three saves this season. The right-hander has given up just six earned runs on only 24 hits with a team-high 72 strikeouts and walked just 13 batters in 45 2/3 innings pitched. This is McReynold's fourth-career All-America honor, as he was an NCBWA , D2CCA and ABCA/Rawlings All-American in 2023.
A senior third baseman from St. Peter's, Mo., Steele, the 2025 MIAA Co-Player of the Year, leads the Mules with a .386 batting average in 51 games this season. He has compiled a team-best 83 hits to go along with 66 runs, 14 doubles, three triples, 13 homers, 62 RBI, a .660 slugging percentage, 33 walks, a .475 on-base percentage and 10 stolen bases. Steele has 24 multi-hit games this season, including nine games with at least three hits. Defensively, Steele has committed just two errors in 162 chances for a .988 fielding percentage and tallied 94 assists and 66 putouts. This is Steele's first-career All-America honor.
A redshirt senior outfielder from Rogers, Ark., Tobol has a .368 batting average, going along with a team-best 68 runs, 78 hits, a team-high 15 doubles, three triples, a team-best 19 homers, 67 RBI and .741 slugging percentage, 27 walks, a .451 on-base percentage and a team-best 22 stolen bases in 51 contests this season. This is Tobol's second All-America selection of his Central Missouri career.
The top-seeded Mules are slated to face No. 3 seed Pittsburg State in a best-of-three NCAA-II Super Regional series May 22-24 at Crane Stadium/Tompkins Field in Warrensburg.
