BOULDER CITY, Nev. -- Central Missouri Mules golf took home 15th place at the Las Vegas Desert Classic Tuesday, Mar. 5 at Boulder Creek Golf Club. The Mules played their best golf on the last day firing a 285 (-3) and finishing the tournament at 19-over (883). Lincoln Memorial claimed first at 26-under (838) while Dallas Baptist and Oklahoma Christian tied for runner-up at 20-under (844).
The Mules were led by freshman
CJ Phillips in his college debut. Phllips finished the tournament tied for 34th at 2-over par (218) after posting a final round of 69 (-3). His round was highlighted by an eagle on the 13th hole and four birdies.Â
Senior
Robbie Sager and sophomore
Jack Hope were next for the Mules, tying for 54th at 5-over par (221). Sager shot the team low score of 68 (-4) in his final round, which included a team high six birdies. Hope was consistent with his second round, shooting another 74 (+2) in his final 18.Â
Redshirt junior
Calvin Dillon and sophomore
Andrew Whittaker rounded out the Mules scoring. Dillon finished the tournament tied for 78th at 12-over par (228) after posting a final round 77 (+5). Whittaker matched his second round with another 74 (+2), finishing the tournament in 87th at 15-over par (231).Â
Next, the Mules head to Edmond, Okla. for the 2024 Broncho Invitational Sunday, Mar. 24, hosted by Central Oklahoma at Rose Creek Golf Club.Â
