JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The No. 30 Central Missouri Mules golf team is in third after completing the second round of the MIAA Championship at the Jefferson City Country Club on Tuesday, April 14.
The Mules went 9-over par today, totaling 17-over par, scoring a 593 (296, 297) to move up to third. UCM recorded seven birdies between the five competing to move up to third place and are just three strokes behind second-place Washburn (14-over). No. 6 Central Oklahoma holds steady at first place, going 6-under for a 575 (293, 282).
Lawson Barks and
CJ Phillips lead the Mules, sitting tied in eighth, carding a total of 3-over after round two. Phillips went 1-over on the day, making par on the back nine and recording two birdies, scoring 147 (74,73). Barks made two birdies and put up a 77 for a score of 147.
Freshman
Kale Flinton went 5-over after making par today to card a total of 149 (77, 72) to stand tied at 14th. Just behind him is
Brooks Baldwin, scoring a 150 after going 3-over par for both rounds to stand in an 18th-place tie.
Jack Hope is tied in 33rd after carding a 77 today for a 154 to score 10-over.
The final round of the MIAA Championships is on Wednesday, April 15, with
Jack Hope teeing off for Central Missouri at 9:20.
