TIP OFF 
  • Central Missouri Mules basketball continues MIAA play with a pair of contests on the road against the Emporia State Hornets (Wednesday, Feb. 21) at 7:30 p.m. inside White Auditorium before taking on the Washburn Ichabods (Saturday, Feb. 24) with tip-off scheduled for 3:00 p.m. from Lee Arena.
 
 ON THE AIR 
  • Both games will be broadcasted on 1450 KOKO, 98.5 The Bar and warrensburgradio.com with the voice of the Mules Greg Hassler and former Mules head basketball coach Kim Anderson on the call.
  • All games will be streamed through the MIAA Network on a pay-per-view basis with coverage beginning at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening and 3:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
 
 MEET THE MULES
  • Adam Bohac was named the 25th head coach in the 118-year history of Central Missouri Mules basketball in March of 2023 after 15 seasons as head coach of the Southern Nazarene Crimson Storm where he had an overall record of 312-146 including 221-98 in GAC play. Bohac's teams have made nine post season appearances including four of the previous six seasons being in the NCAA Tournament. In 2022-23, the Storm reached the Sweet Sixteen and in 2019-20 were a two-seed in the tournament.  
  • The Mules are coming into 2023 with eleven of their 15 student-athletes having never stepped on the court for UCM.
  • Central Missouri returns four players from last year's team including guard Jordan Hayes and forwards Jack Chapman, Ben Fritz, and Yafet Haile.
  • The Mules brought in Division I transfers Caleb Nero (North Dakota) and Keith Kinner III (Niagara).
  • Other transfers include Jalen Knott (Alderson Broaddus), Terrance Broughton (Malone), Raeshaun Ambris (Moberly Area CC), and Josh Nwankwo (New Mexico JC).
  • The Mules added five freshman including guards KJ Vasser, Corey Skillman Jr., and Max Dowling, plus, forwards Noah Martin and Tim Jordan Jr.
 
 LAST TIME OUT 
  • The Central Missouri Mules (11-13, 6-12) fell to No. 18 Fort Hays State Tigers (20-5, 15-4) by a final score of 51-47 on Saturday afternoon inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center in Warrensburg.  
  • The Tigers led by three at the break and held off a late Central Missouri surge in the second half picking up their 20th win of the season led by guard Elijah Nnanabu's 14 points and nine rebounds.  
  • Central Missouri had two players total finish in double-figures including forward Keith Kiner III who had a game-high 15 points and five rebounds while freshman Tim Jordan Jr. added 14 points, four rebounds, and two steals for good measure.
  • Guards Jalen Knott and Corey Skillman Jr. (two assists) ended the contest with eight points, three rebounds, and two steals each, while redshirt senior Jordan Hayes grabbed a team-best six rebounds, six assists, and two steals.
 
 UCM BY THE NUMBERS 
  • Through 24 games this season, the Mules are averaging 63 points per game while shooting 40 percent from the field, including 31 percent from beyond the arc and 70 percent from the charity stripe.
  • Central Missouri is averaging 34 rebounds, 10.5 assists, six steals, and three blocks per contest.
  • The Mules have three players averaging double figure scoring this season including redshirt senior Keith Kiner III (11.5 points and five rebounds per game), guard Jalen Knott (11.5 points, four rebounds, two assists, and 1.5 steals per contest), and freshman Tim Jordan Jr. (11 points, 4.5 rebounds, and one assist per game). 
 
 SERIES HISTORY VS EMPORIA STATE
  • Wednesday night's contest will be the 120th all-time meeting as UCM holds a 74-45 advantage overall following a 60-53 win over the Hornets in their previous matchup this season.  
  • Last season inside White Auditorium, No. 20 Emporia State defeated the Mules 75-72 as five players for UCM scored in double figures including redshirt senior Gaven Pinkley (team-high 18 points, team-best six rebounds, and three assists), guard Trey Sides (13 points, five rebounds, and two steals), sophomore Jack Chapman (11 points, five rebounds, and a game-high four steals), guard Kobe Campbell (11 points, five rebounds, two steals, and two assists), and redshirt sophomore Mikel Henders (11 points and four rebounds).    
  • Earlier this season in Warrensburg, the Mules defeated ESU 60-53 led by guard Jalen Knott's game-high 19 points adding five rebounds, and a game-best three steals.
  • Three other UCM players finished the game with double-digit scoring performances including forward Keith Kiner III (13 points, nine rebounds, and a game-high four assists), redshirt senior Jordan Hayes (10 points and a game-best 10 rebounds), and forward Tim Jordan Jr. (10 points, and four rebounds).
 
SERIES HISTORY VS WASHBURN
  • Ahead of Saturday's matchup, the Ichabods hold a 54-53 overall record in the series dating back to the 1911-12 season.
  • In Topeka, Washburn is 34-20 overall following a 55-47 Ichabod win last season (Jan. 5) as UCM was led by guard Kobe Campbell's 15 points, two assists, and two steals while redshirt senior Gaven Pinkley added 10 points, and five rebounds.
  • Earlier this season in Warrensburg, the Mules defeated the Ichabods 82-71 (Jan. 10) as five players recorded double-digit scoring performances including freshman Corey Skillman Jr. (career-high 17 points), forward Tim Jordan Jr. (16 points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals), redshirt senior Caleb Nero (14 points, two assists, and two steals), guard Jalen Knott (13 points, five rebounds, and two assists), and redshirt senior Jordan Hayes (12 points, a team-high seven rebounds, two assists, and two blocks).

  • Central Missouri continues MIAA play hosting the Rogers State Hillcats on Thursday, Feb. 29, as they take on the Rogers State Hillcats with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m. inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center in Warrensburg.
