Five Jennies Earn College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Softball Honors

AUSTIN, Texas – Five Central Missouri Jennies softball student-athletes were selected to the 2023 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Softball Team for their efforts on both the diamond and in the classroom, the College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) announced earlier today.
 
Outfielders Abby Allnutt, Aubrie McRoberts and Ashlyn Cook along with short stop Abbey Fischer and pitcher Paige Petefish received Academic All-District® accolades and are now eligible to be voted to the Academic All-America® Teams which will be announced on Tuesday, June 6.
 
A native of Warrensburg, Mo., Allnutt has a 4.0 GPA majoring in Graphic Design and was named the 2023 MIAA "A" Game Scholar Athlete while earning several other academic awards including a pair of Easton / NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete Awards. The junior outfielder finished the season with a .295 average and eight extra base-hits while driving in 23 RBI playing in 49 games making 35 starts for the Jens.
 
A junior outfielder from Warsaw, Mo., McRoberts has earned multiple academic awards including a pair of MIAA Academic Honor Rolls and the Easton / NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete Award honors. During the 2023 season, the 2022 All-MIAA Honorable Mention selection played in 44 games making 35 starts ending the year with a .343 on-base percentage while driving in 14 RBI for Central Missouri.
 
Named a 2023 All-MIAA First Team selection, Cook earned a 4.0 GPA majoring in speech-language pathology and previously has achieved numerous MIAA Academic Honor Roll selections and a pair of Easton / NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete awards. The Lee's Summit, Mo. native started all 54 games this past season for UCM ending her career with the most games played in program history (225) and second most career hits (223).
 
A Topeka, Kan. native, Fischer led the MIAA conference this season with 57 runs scored and six triples while compiling a team-high .366 average and eight home runs. Majoring in Kinesiology, Fischer earned a 3.96 GPA this past year and has received several academic awards including a pair of Easton / NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete awards and MIAA Academic Honor Rolls. The shortstop finished her career with the fourth most runs scored (129) and fourth most triples (13) in program history.
 
A redshirt sophomore pitcher from Topeka, Kan., Petefish earned a 3.66 GPA in the classroom majoring in entrepreneurship and social enterprise and is a multiple time MIAA Academic Honor Roll recipient. After sitting out last season due to injury, the 2021 First Team All-MIAA selection finished the year with a 12-7 record with a 3.20 ERA tossing 12 complete games while striking out 103 batters in over 137 innings pitched.
 
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
