JOPLIN, Mo. -- No. 25-ranked Central Missouri Jennies Golf captured the MIAA Women's Golf Championship for the first time in program history on Wednesday, April 26, at Eagle Creek Golf Club. The Jennies shot a three day total 936 (+72) with rounds of 310, 305, and 321.
They finished up two strokes from Rogers State, who took runner-up honors, and 23-strokes up from Northeastern State, who finished in third. Paige Hoffman of Northwest Missouri took home individual medalist honors for the tournament.Â
The Jennies were led by
Nicole Rallo, who finished as the individual tournament runner-up. Rallo shot 75 (+3) on the final day, to finish the tournament at nine-over par. Rallo's performance earned her MIAA All-Tournament Team honors as well.Â
Hayley Jones was next for the Jennies, finishing in seventh place individually. Jones shot 76 (+4) in her final round.Â
Rosie Klausner ended the tournament at 22-over par to earn 14th place individually.
Claire Solovic and
McKenna Rice rounded out the Jennies scores for the tournament. Solovic finished in 28th, shooting 247 (+31) for the three days. Rice shot 250 (+34) over the course of the three rounds to finish in 33rd.Â
The Jennies first place finish earned them an automatic bid into the NCAA Central Regional Tournament in Larchwood, Iowa at Grand Falls Casino and Golf Resort on Monday, May 8.
