KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Central Missouri track & field had three student-athletes earn MIAA Outdoor Athlete of the Week honors for their performances during competition during the week of March 20-26, the conference office announced Tuesday, March 28.

Kayla Goodwin earned MIAA Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week accolades while the Mules'
Antonio Lay was tabbed the MIAA Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week and
Clay Carbajal was selected the Conference's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Goodwin captured athlete of the week honors after winning the heptathlon at the ESU Relays March 24-25 in Emporia, Kan. The Hamilton, New Zealand, native tallied a personal-best score of 5,476 points and went placed first in seven out of seven heptathlon events. Goodwin's mark is the top mark in NCAA Division II so far this season and is the 21st-highest in NCAA Division II history. Her tally is also second-best in school history. In the heptathlon long jump, Goodwin compiled an outdoor personal-best mark of 5.98m (19.07.50), which is ninth-best in NCAA-II in 2023 and fourth-best in school history.
Lay secured his athlete of the week accolade after winning the 100m dash at the ESU Relays March 25, running a provisional time of 10.30. His time is third-fastest in Division II so far in 2023.
Carbajal was named athlete of the week after winning the decathlon at the ESU Relays March 24-25 with a personal-best 6,427 points. His tally is the top total in Division II so far this season. The Kansas City, Mo., native placed in the top four in all 10 decathlon events, including winning the 400m dash, discus and javelin.
