WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Central Missouri Mules baseball secured another MIAA series victory after recording a pair of run-rule, seven-inning wins in a doubleheader sweep of the Newman Jets Sunday afternoon, March 19, at Crane Stadium/Tompkins Field. The Mules shut out the Jets in game one, 11-0, before winning the nightcap, 16-6.

UCM (18-7, 10-2 MIAA) and Newman (11-15, 5-7 MIAA) will wrap up the three-game series with a single game Monday, March 20, at 1 p.m. in Warrensburg.

In the 11-0 game one triumph, the Mules plated runs in the second through sixth innings while keeping the Jets off the scoreboard en route to the shutout win.

Carter Young went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI while Cole Moore was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs driven in, Jacob Steele was a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs scored, Vance Tobol recorded a three-run double, and Seth Kenagy added a triple, leading Central Missouri at the plate in game one.

UCM right-handed starter Conner Wolf (4-2) earned the victory on the mound in the opening game of the day, giving up no earned runs on just two hits with one strikeout and one walk in five innings.

In the 16-6 win in the nightcap, the Mules plated eight runs in the fourth and five runs in the sixth, taking control of the game.
