UCM Track & Field Concludes Opening Day at Indoor Gorilla Classic

PITTSBURG, Kan. – The Central Missouri track and field teams wrapped up the opening day of action at the eighth-annual Pittsburg State Indoor Gorilla Classic Friday, Feb. 10, inside the Robert W. Plaster Center.

The Mules and Jennies are scheduled to compete in the second and final day of the event Saturday, Feb. 11.

Throws
  • Rachael Molloy won the women's weight throw, launching a provisional throw of 18.80m (61-08.00) on her sixth and final attempt. Abby Vogel finished 10th with a throw of 15.88m (52-01.00).
  • Addison Snowball launched a personal-best and provisional throw of 18.67m (61-03.00) on his third attempt to place eighth in the men's weight throw. His mark is 10th-best in school history.
Jumps
  • In the women's long jump, the Jennies finished second and third. Kayla Goodwin posted a provisional mark of 5.88m (19-03.50) on her fourth attempt to finish runner-up while Claire Luallen had a personal-best and provisional jump of 5.79m (19-00) on her second attempt to place third. Goodwins mark is fourth-best in school history while Luallen's jump is eighth-best all-time.
  • In the women's high jump open division, Therese Reindl finished fifth, clearing a height of 1.60m (5-03.00) on her third attempt.
  • The Mules had four student-athletes finish in the top-10 of the men's high jump open division. Carter Bell placed fourth with a height of 1.90m (6-02.75) while Justin Hamrick cleared a personal-best 1.90m (6-02.75) for sixth place. Vincent Wilson was eighth after clearing 1.87m (6-01.50) and Clay Carbajal was ninth with a mark of 1.82m (5-11.75).
Pole Vault
  • In the women's pole vault open division, Molly Greene finished fourth after clearing 3.53m (11-07.00) while Keyleigh Reichert placed eighth with a mark of 3.33m (10-11.00).
  • Josiah Crooks placed third in the men's pole vault open division, clearing 4.52m (14-10.00).
Distance
  • Isaak Rasche ran a personal-best 1:13.98 to place 10th out of 26 competitors in the men's 600-yard run.
