UCM Track & Field Sets Seven Provisional Marks at Indoor Mule Relays

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Central Missouri track & field wrapped up the home portion of its 2022-23 indoor season Saturday, Jan. 28, with the annual Indoor Mules Relays inside the UCM Multipurpose Building.

The Mules and Jennies combined to tally seven provisional marks and set numerous personal bests during the meet.

Central Missouri is scheduled to return to action Feb. 3-4 at the Northwest Missouri Bearcat Invitational in Maryville, Mo.

Pole Vault
  • The Mules went 1-2-3 in the pole vault, as Jack Hodge placed first, Reagan Ulrich finished second and Trent Davis took third. Hodge posted a provisional mark of 5.15m (16-10.75) while Ulrich cleared a provisional 5.00m (16-04.75) and Davis cleared 4.40m (14-05.25). Hodge's mark ranks fifth-best in NCAA Division II and eight-best in school history.
  • The Jennies placed first and third in the pole vault. Madi Wulfekotter cleared a provisional height of 3.97m (13-00.25) to finish first while Molly Greene cleared 3.52m (11-06.50) for third place. Wulfekotter's height is eight-highest in NCAA-II in 2022-23.
Throws
  • The Jennies finished first and third in the women's weight throw, with Rachael Molloy winning the event and Abby Vogel placing third. Molloy threw the second-best throw in school history and the ninth-best throw in NCAA-II this season, a provisional and personal best 18.94m (62-01.75), while Vogel launched a personal best throw of 16.84m (55-03.00), which ranks eighth-best in program history.
  • Addison Snowball won the men's weight throw, recording a provisional throw of 18.11m (59-05.00.
Jumps
  • Cadman Evans continued his stellar start to his Central Missouri career, placing first in the high jump and clearing the second-best mark in school history and third-best in NCAA Division II this season, 2.18m (7-01.75). His height was also a provisional mark.
  • Therese Reindl captured the women's high jump title after clearing a personal-best 1.59m (5-02.50).
  • Aubree Bell took third in the women's long jump, tying her personal best with a mark of 4.97m (16-03.75).
Combined Events
  • Vincent Wilson won the heptathlon with a personal best score of 4,808 points. Wilson placed first in four of the seven events (60m dash, pole vault, 60m hurdles, 1,000m run) and tallied personal bests in five of seven events.
  • Cate Cooper finished third in the indoor pentathlon with 2,464 points. She tallied personal bests in the 800m run, shot put and high jump.
Sprints/Hurdles
  • Antonio Lay placed first in the men's 60m dash, posting a provisional time of 6.75, which ranks tied for 12th-fastest in NCAA-II this season.
  • Lenetta Lee was runner up in the women's 60m dash, running a personal best 7.89. She also finished second in the 200m dash, tallying a time of 26.33.
  • Emily Sporleder finished second in the women's 400m dash, posting a time of 1:01.05.
  • Connor McKee placed second in the men's 400m dash, clocking a time of 53.33.
Distance
  • The Mules and Jennies both went one and three in the mile. For the Mules, Paul Korir finished first at 4:25.36 while Cooper Palmer was third with a personal best 4:29.15.  For the Jennies, Cynthia Togom ran 5:22.92 to take first, and Risper Mengich placed third at 5:28.59.
  • Hope Thiel posted a time of 1:27.08 as she won the women's 600-yard run.
  • The Jennies went 2-3 in the women's 3,000m run. Lilian Busienei finished runner up at 11:49.08 while Rylee Adams was third with a personal best 11:53.33.
  • Kye Mason ran 1:13.76 and finished third in his first collegiate 600-yard run final.
Relays
  • The Mules 4x400m relay of Demeris Walker, Ariel Kerr, McKee and Brayden Blackman won the event with a team time of 3:36.49.
  • The Jennies 4x400m relay team of Sporleder, Karoline Kolie, Thiel and Liberty Brown placed second with a combined time of 4:07.96.
