WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- Central Missouri Jennies softball hit four home runs to power it to a sweep of the Lincoln Blue Tigers in an MIAA doubleheader Wednesday, April 6, at Jennies Field at the South Recreation Complex. UCM won game one, 9-6, before taking the nightcap, 10-4.
The Jennies (11-26, 4-10 MIAA) are scheduled to host Newman in an MIAA doubleheader Saturday, April 9, at noon.
Game 1: Central Missouri 9, Lincoln 6
Central Missouri plated a combined six runs in the fourth and fifth innings to lift it to the 9-6 win in game one.
Jessica Sader went a perfect 3-for-3 with her third home run of 2022, two RBIs and a pair of runs scored while
Makenzie McAtee went 3-for-4 with her second home run of the season, pacing the Jennies at the plate in the opening game.
Gentry Wishard (2-7) earned the victory in the circle after surrendering four earned runs on seven hits with no strikeouts and a walk in 5 2/3 innings.
UCM outhit Lincoln in game one, 13-7.
Game 2: Central Missouri 10, Lincoln 4
The Jennies used a seven-run third inning to take control of game two and eventually post the 10-4 victory.
Sader went 2-for-2 with a triple and three RBIs while
Bailey Lovelace added a 3-for-4 performance and hit her third home run of the season, going along with three RBIs, pacing Central Missouri offensively in the nightcap.
Bailee Bryant compiled her first home run of 2022 and drove in two runs.
Kaylee Diggs (1-5) picked up the win in game two, allowing no earned run on just two hits with no strikeouts and one walk in five innings of work.
The Jennies posted a 14-6 hitting advantage over the Blue Tigers (11-22, 0-14 MIAA) in the contest.
