Four Jennies Earn 2026 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Softball Honors

AUSTIN, Texas - Four Central Missouri softball student-athletes were selected to the 2025 CSC Academic All-District® Softball team including Bailey Brumley, Marisa Johnson, Jadyn Sheffield, and Taylor Thompson for their efforts in both the classroom and on the diamond, the College Sports Communicators announced on Tuesday, May 26.
 
Brumley, a senior from Blue Springs, Mo., earns her second consecutive CSC Academic All-District® selection in 2026 with a 3.74 GPA as a Marketing major while starting all 51 games for the Jens, splitting time between a starting pitcher and first base. Brumley's .325 batting average, 54 hits, including 16 for extra bases, seven doubles, nine homers, 42 RBI, and 28 runs scored all ranked in the top-five for UCM offensively. In the circle, the First Team All-MIAA selection posted an 11-6 record with a 3.20 ERA, leading the staff with 102 2/3 innings pitched, 79 strikeouts, and six complete-game efforts.
 
Johnson, a sophomore from De Soto, Kan., earns her first CSC Academic All-District® thanks to a 3.93 GPA as a Kinesiology major after leading the Jens with a 1.110 OPS and 11 doubles, while ranking top-five on the team in home runs (13), total bases (96), RBI (42), batting average (.346), and hits (46) for good measure. The First Team All-MIAA selection had 12 multi-hit ballgames on the year, highlighted by a seven-game hitting streak.
 
Sheffield, A native of Olathe, Kan., earns her third consecutive CSC Academic All-District® nod with a 3.93 GPA as an MBA student while starting all 51 games in 2026 at second base for the Jens. She finished the season with a .264 batting average, while collecting 28 hits, including four doubles, while leading the team in walks drawn with 30 and stealing 16 bases on 18 attempts. The senior recorded three multi-hit games during the season, highlighted by going 3-3 with two runs scored and an RBI in UCM's 6-5 victory over No. 17 Central Oklahoma in Edmond.

Thompson, a junior from Noblesville, Ind., earns her second consecutive CSC Academic All-District® honors maintaining a 3.77 GPA as a Occupational Safety major where she led the Jens with an MIAA best 16 homers, 54 RBI, and 107 total bases, while posting top-five offensive marks in hits (51), doubles (eight), slugging percentage (.669), and on-base percentage (.410) for good measure. The three-time All-MIAA selection recorded 11 multi-hit ballgames and blasted the most round-trippers by a Jen in a single season since Jakki Prater (19) in 2014.

Johnson and Thompson are now eligible for the Academic All-America® teams which will be announced on Tuesday, June 16.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
