Northeastern State Takes Two from Jennies Softball Friday

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. -- Central Missouri Jennies softball dropped an MIAA doubleheader to the Northeastern State RiverHawks Friday, April 1, at RiverHawks Park, falling in game one, 13-7, and game two, 5-1. 

The Jennies (9-24, 2-8 MIAA) are slated to take on third-ranked Rogers State in an conference twin bill Saturday, April 2, at noon in Claremore, Okla.

Game 1: Northeastern State 13, Central Missouri 7

In UCM's 13-7 loss in the opening game Friday, Laney Killpack went 2-for-2 with three RBIs, while Aubrie McRoberts was 2-for-4 with a pair of runs driven in, leading the Jennies at the plate. 

Kyleigh Lay (4-9) took the loss in the circle in game one for Central Missouri, allowing five unearned runs on two hits with one walk and no strikeouts. 

Chloe Bohuslavicky went 2-for-3 with a home run and five RBIs, and Addy Wolfe added a 2-for-4 performance with a homer and pair of runs batted in, pacing the RiverHawks offensively. 

Northeastern State's Gail Young earned the win in game one, giving up seven runs -- six earned -- on eight hits with fives Ks and two walks in six innings. 

Game 2: Northeastern State 5, Central Missouri 1

Central Missouri was held to just one run on four hits in the 5-1 setback in game two. Jessica Sader had two of those hits and went 2-for-3 with a double and RBI, leading the Jennies. 

Kaylee Diggs (0-5) posted the loss in the second contest, allowing four earned runs on nine hits with one walk in 2 1/3 innings of work. 

Carly Kelley went 2-for-3 with a homer and drove in a pair of runs, pacing the RiverHawks (17-16, 5-3 MIAA). 

Savannah Evans (5-8) compiled the victory in the circle, scattering four hits and allowing an earned run with six strikeouts and six walks in a seven-inning, complete-game performance.
