CLAREMORE, Okla. -- UCM softball dropped an MIAA doubleheader to the third-ranked Rogers State Hillcats Saturday, April 2, at the Diamond Sports Complex, falling in game one, 8-0 in five innings, and game two, 3-0.
The Jennies (9-26, 2-10 MIAA) will look to get back on the winning track when they host an MIAA doubleheader against Lincoln Tuesday, April. 5, starting at 3 p.m. at Jennies Field.
Game 1: No. 3 Rogers State 8, Central Missouri 0 (5 inn.)
Game one saw the Jennies compile only two hits, one each from
Aubrie McRoberts and
Jessica Sader.
Sadie Parks (3-6) suffered the setback in the circle after giving up seven earned runs on four hits with one strikeout and four walks in 2 2/3 innings of work.
Elexis Watson went 1-for-2 with a homer and three RBIs, pacing the third-ranked Hillcats in game one.
Andrea Morales (18-1) posted the victory in the circle, tossing a five-inning, complete-game and surrendering no earned runs on only two hits with 10 strikeouts and zero walks.
Game 2: No. 3 Rogers State 3, Central Missouri 0
In the game two setback, Central Missouri was held to just one hit -- a single from
Peyton Corrigan.
Gentry Wishard (2-6) took the loss in the second contest, allowing three runs -- one earned -- on seven hits with two strikeouts and two walks in a six-inning, complete-game performance.
Chelsea Spain went 3-for-4 with an RBI, leading Rogers State (31-3, 10-0 MIAA) offensively in game two.
M'Kayla Hillman was the wining pitcher in game two, giving up just one hit and no earned runs with no strikeouts and four walks in five innings.
