WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- Central Missouri Jennies softball split a non-conference doubleheader against the Rockhurst Hawks Tuesday, March 29, at  Jennies Field at the South Recreation Complex, dropping game one, 7-5, before winning the nightcap, 13-9.

The Jennies (9-22) are slated to travel to Tahlequah, Okla., for an MIAA doubleheader against Northeastern State Friday, April 1, starting at 1 p.m.

The Jennies used an eight-run sixth inning to rally for the 13-9 victory in the second contest.

Aubrie McRoberts slapped a two-run single to right field for the opening two runs of the sixth before Abbey Fischer belted a two-run home run to left field and Abby Allnutt plated two more runs for the home team with a two-RBI single. Bailee Bryant provided the exclamation mark for the frame, smacking a two-run single down the left field line for the 13-8 advantage.

McRoberts and Fischer both went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs, with Fischer adding her first homer of the season, and MaKenzie Cooper homered for the second straight game and the team-best fourth time in 2022 and drove in a trio of runs, pacing the Jennies in the nightcap.
